Privacy Policy

MirchiColor ("we", "us") is an autism caregiver app built for Indian families. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, where it lives, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to help you support your child, we store it in India, and we never sell it.
Who this policy covers
MirchiColor is used by parents, guardians, and caregivers — adults. Children do not create accounts on MirchiColor. When you enter information about your child (for example, describing a behaviour or writing a journal entry), you do so as their parent or legal guardian, and you consent to that information being processed as described here.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address and name when you sign up, and your language preference.
Information you enter about your child. Behaviour descriptions you type into Decode My Child, journal entries, mood tags, skill assessments, schedules and boards you build, and photos you choose to attach to journal entries. You control what you enter. We ask only for what a tool needs to work — we never require your child's full name, date of birth, school, or diagnosis documents.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details. We store only your subscription status (free or Premium, plan, renewal date) and Razorpay's payment reference IDs.
Usage information. Basic technical logs (such as which tools are used and when) so we can keep the app working and improve it.
Voice input. When you use voice typing in the Journal, speech is converted to text on your own device by your browser. We never receive or store your audio.
How we use your information
- To run the tools you use — generating decodes, building schedules, saving journal entries, creating reports.
- To process AI-powered features. Text you enter may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate guidance. This data is used only to generate your response; it is not used to train AI models.
- To manage your subscription and send you transactional emails (welcome, payment confirmation, payment failure, cancellation, renewal reminders) via Resend.
- To respond when you contact us.
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your child's information with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else for marketing.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in Mumbai, India (ap-south-1 region). Photos you attach to journal entries are stored in private storage accessible only to your account.
Services we rely on
- Supabase (via Lovable Cloud) — database and storage, Mumbai, India
- Razorpay — payment processing (RBI-regulated, India)
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI processing of text you enter
Each of these providers processes data only to provide their service to us.
Your rights and choices
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act, 2023), you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, and to raise a grievance.
- Access and correction: you can view and edit your information in the app at any time.
- Deletion: you can delete individual journal entries, photos, and saved items yourself. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email us at hello@mirchicolor.com and we will complete the deletion within 7 days and confirm to you in writing.
- Consent withdrawal: you may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. The app's free tools that work without an account collect no personal information.

We acknowledge grievances within 72 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
How long we keep data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is erased from our systems within 7 days, except minimal payment records we are legally required to retain (such as invoices) under Indian tax law.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is restricted. Photos live in private storage tied to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your family's information with the care we would want for our own.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date above and notify you by email or in the app before the changes take effect.
